User navigation,landing pages and bookmarks for tax year 06-07

Description
TurboTax is a tax software package designed to guide users through their tax returns step-by-step in an "interview" format. The product research for Tax Year 05-06 revealed a number of usability problems. The key issues that I focussed on were:

• Users were confused about the navigation options available to them (interview every question or choose individual topics)
• Users were not sure whether they could skip a question and get back to it later

Role
I worked as part of the core Turbo Tax design team on various new features and usability enhancements to the product. My key contributions included:

• designing alternative user navigation schemes, landing page designs and bookmark certain questions
• iterating, prototyping and testing theabove concepts in the usability lab
